Welcome to one and all. At the outset, I would like to thank the previous team of Committee members, who had built the foundation, on which the present as well as the future Vidya Mandir Alumni Association could grow.

The VMAA since its inception has contributed to the its alma mater, the school, and the teachers and the staff who are the soul behind it

The various batches of alumni and many large-hearted individuals have come together to make contributions to the school. Thanks to this, we have helped raise funds for the school and contributed to many projects like the new  KG Block, Renovation of the toilets, towards the education of underprivileged students under the RTE act and helped establish utilities for the school like solar panels, water harvesting plants and an elevators. Cultural events like Vidyavibhjavam have been conducted with our own alumni stars in various fields to help fund these projects

We started a unique, one of its kind Health Insurance scheme for the teachers and staff of the school in the Golden Jubilee Year (2005). The group health insurance policy premium paid is for yearly by the VMAA from the contributions by the various alumni batches. This has helped many a teacher and staff tide over their health problems by providing cashless cover for their health needs. I seek the support of alumini to contribute to this wonderful idea and keep it going.

VMAA has conducted various events and activities to bring together its alumni. Apart from the gala golden Jubilee event in 2005 and the sports meet that followed in the next year, it has also held cricket tournaments for alumini batches and get together dinners to renew old bonds and build fellowship.

Not to forget social causes, the VMAA conducts a blood donation camp regularly where the alumni not only meet each other but donate something precious. It also has contributed towards relief efforts during the Chennai Floods, conducted health awareness and screening camps for people in the area.

I would ask the alumni across all years to take active part in the alumni activities and contribute towards our connect with the school, our teachers and one another and build more memories and nostalgia
