Started by members of the Mylapore Ladies’ Club Founders include Sister Subbulakshmi Ammal, Mrs. Padmini Chari, Sri Subbaraya Aiyer, noted lawyer.

1960

Matriculation section opens.

1963

First batch takes the exam. (Madras Matric).

1975

School gets affiliated to CBSE.

1978

First CBSE batch takes 10th Standard exam. School becomes co-ed.

1981

Silver Jubilee K G Block comes up.

1989

Adyar School is established. It is today independent as Bala Vidya Mandir

Primary Block comes up

New Admin Block comes up

State-of-the-art computer lab is set up with the help of Redington and Compaq

New open air theatre and library are built.
