The Annual Gautam Memorial Double Wicket, Inter-School Cricket Tournament is organized by Vidya Mandir Alumni Association, in memory of Late N.Gautam , an alumnus of 1984 Batch. He was a talented cricketer, whose progress beyond the Ranji Level was cut-short, when he succumbed to cancer in the year 2002.

The Vidya Mandir Alumni Association organized the Annual Gautam Memorial Double wicket Cricket Tournament at Marina grounds on 27th and 28th June 2015.

Mr. V. B .Chandrasekhar and Mr.L Sivaramakrishnan ,former test cricketers, inaugurated the tournament

In all teams from 12 schools participated. On Sunday morning in a friendly match between the Vidya Mandir School Team and the Vidya Mandir Alumni Association, the Alumni Association team won the match.

Santhome School, St.Bedes, Don Bosco and Lady Andal qualified for the semi finals. St. Bedes defeated Santhome School in the finals to lift the trophy for the year 2014-15.

Mr Raghavan, Vice President, TNCA was the chief guest at the valedictory function.

Mr Raghavan and Mr Mahalingam – Director T S Mahalingam & Sons, Vidya Mandir Alumni, gave away prizes to the winners and runners up.

The tournament continues to get good response from the Alumni and from the participating Schools.

Vidya Mandir School team extended full fielding support during the tournament and TNCA deputed qualified umpires.
